Simon Whitehead's Squarespace architect website redesign project

About this project

Simon got in touch while he was redesigning his existing Squarespace website because he had a specific look that he wanted to achieve, but was having trouble getting the system to do what he wanted. He also had a huge raft of projects in a portfolio, but it was difficult for site visitors to find projects that were relevant to them.

In addition to applying custom coding to achieve the desired look, I advised Simon on the best way to rebuild their portfolio pages, and designed a project template that would make adding new projects and ongoing maintenance much easier. We also set things up so the portfolio projects could be labeled and filtered, to not only allow them to be easier to use on the public facing website, but also to allow the team to easily create custom links to clusters of similar projects that they could then send to prospective clients.

Simon also wanted a custom map with pins for all their projects, but didn’t want to invest heavily in this, so I trained his team on how to use the free My Google Maps service to create a custom map showing all of their projects in an embedded interactive Google map.

NOTE: After project completion, all clients receive training to empower them to update their own websites, so bear in mind that anything you see on the live website may not reflect my design work.
