Frequently Asked Questions

For Quick Help or hourly sessions, you can book directly into my diary and it will automatically show you the next available slots (normally within 1-2 weeks).
For larger projects, I can normally start within 3-6 weeks of signing the contract depending on how busy my schedule is. We can discuss timing in a briefing call.

All prices are shown on the relevant service pages, including starting prices for new websites. I will say upfront that I’m not interested in churning out cheap websites, so if you are looking for bargain basement prices, I’m not the best match for you. My rates offer value commensurate with my level of expertise, so if these are not within your budget, then it’s best if you look elsewhere for someone less experienced who can price accordingly.
I don’t create cookie-cutter websites, and I always aim to deliver exactly what my clients need. Therefore, for all larger projects I will provide a tailored proposal based on a proper brief to ensure there are no hidden costs or unexpected surprises for either of us.
This means I can’t give you an exact cost without knowing certain details about your project - but don’t worry, I have a questionnaire that you can fill in after initial contact to brief me on your project requirements.

I’m based in Brixton, South London and I work with clients from around the world. My office has been set up with collaborative working in mind, so you’re very welcome to come here. I have plenty of space, a spare desk for you and a big screen to work from.
I run a majority of my projects remotely, and have done for the last 10 years, so if Brixton isn’t convenient for you, we can always meet on Zoom or Google Meet.

Sure! Around 30-40% of my clients are not based in the UK. I'm sure we can find a suitable way of working that means neither of us has to be at a computer during unsociable hours.
If you’re trying to book a session but can’t find anything suitable for your timezone, drop me a line using the relevant button below.

I accept payment in £GBP/$USD/EUROS by credit/debit card or bank transfer. All payment details including how to pay online are in the invoice or booking confirmation email that you'll receive.
For most types of bookings or projects, I require a 50% deposit upfront in order to secure my time and ensure we are both committed to carrying out the project together.

Sure! I'll gladly help you in a Quick Help Session. However, I can't offer free advice or support. Just like you wouldn't expect the post office to send a letter for free, even a short postcard, I can't give away my services because a gal's gotta bring home that veggie bacon somehow :-).
I do offer loads of free advice on my blog, and I also have a Squarespace help site that accompanies my book, where you can see a lot of the different ways you can use/adapt Squarespace functionality.

I work with version 7.1 and version 7.0 (I’ve even written a book about the latter).
If you already have a 7.0 website, we can talk about whether the time is right for you to move to version 7.1 (it’s not straightforward).
In most cases, I build new websites in version 7.1 unless there is a compelling business reason not to. We can discuss this in more detail if you’re not sure which is right for you.

I used to work with Wordpress but I don’t anymore due to the ongoing issues with security, and incompatibility or constantly needing to update the platform, plugins, themes and servers - often supplied by multiple third parties. I’ve written a number of blog posts about this, if you’d like to read more.
Squarespace is currently my platform of choice, but I also have experience with Shopify and Wix.
